Andrew Billisits

Andrew is a first-year Master's student in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Viterbi and an active- duty Major in the United States Army serving within the Operations Research and Systems Analysis (ORSA) functional area. He received a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy in Environmental Science in 2012 and holds an MBA from The Ohio State University and a Master of Military Operational Studies from the US Army Command and General Staff College. Before his selection to the ORSA field, Andrew served in a number of positions as an Infantry Officer including command of Ironhawk Troop, 3d Squadron, 3d Cavalry Regiment during Operation Inherent Resolve in Al Qaim, Iraq. He is excited about continuing his education at USC and taking the knowledge and experience back to the military as he continues his career. He is a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and US Army Ranger Tab. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife Gabriela and their 3- month-old son, George.

Anni Li

Anni Li is a first-year Master student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering - Machine Learning and Data Science Program at the University of Southern California. She graduated from the University of California, San Diego with Bachelor of Science degrees in Physics and Cognitive Science with a specialization in Machine Learning and Neural Computation. During her undergraduate years, she worked as a student researcher in Duarte Lab and contributed to the development of Generative Adversarial Particle Transformer (GAPT) aimed at discovering Higgs bosons and unveiling novel physics theories using data derived from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). As she furthers her academic pursuits at USC, Anni aspires to become a machine learning engineer who deploys the integration of machine learning algorithms and hardware platforms to facilitate scientific research as well as to make everyday life more efficient and enriched for all.
